LAPO MfB decries high cost of education, gives 3,004 scholarships

LAPO Microfinance Bank (MfB) has lamented the increasing cost of access to quality education, which is depriving children from low-income households. The managing director, Dr. Godwin Ehigiamusoe, expressed the concern yesterday during LAPO MfB 2018 Scholarship and Skills Acquisition Awards ceremony in Benin City, Edo State.

LAPO THRIFT COLLECTION SERVICES KICKS OFF IN SEVEN ZONES

Presently, over 60 Thrift Collectors have been deployed to collect as little as N200 daily deposits from clients in the pilot States.

So far, a considerable number of clients have registered as depositors owing to the use of digital devices utilized by the Collectors which enable depositors to get real time alerts and also a receipt after every deposit in the comfort of their homes or business place.

The LAPO Thrift Collection is a convenient means for clients to save money.

LAPO MfB TEAMS UP WITH STARTIMES TO PROVIDE TV SETS AND DECODERS TO CLIENT

LAPO has signed an agreement with MfBStarTimes TV to provide digital High Definition Television sets with inbuilt decoders to its clients across Nigeria.  The loan product is targeted at both salary and business owners who may not be able to pay a lump sum to own these items.  The HD TV sets which come in various sizes ranging from 55”, 43”, 32” and 24” can be purchased using our single payment and installment methods between a period of 1-9 months. The pilot is ongoing across 30  branches in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Edo, Delta, Enugu, Imo and FCT.

LAPO MfB PARTNERS NIPOST TO EXPAND FINANCIAL INCLUSION WITH AGENT BANKING

LAPO Microfinance Bank has reached an agreement with the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) to enhance inclusive growth by extending financial services to Nigerians and support the financial inclusion campaign of the Central Bank of Nigeria. Riding on LAPO's existing agent banking platform, 75 NIPOST locations are onboard to cater to potential and existing clients in the rural areas who do not have to come to town as the services are now at clients' doorstep.

LAPO Launches BRANCHLITE Initiative

LAPO MfB hasjust launched the BRANCHLITE initiative as part of its technology-driven initiatives toboost daily operations. The BRANCHLITE project pilot phase kicked off in September, 2017.

BRANCHLITE is a simple and convenient solution that gives Client Support Officers (CSOs) the mandate and flexibility to post field transactions directly to CBS. With the new technology, CSOs would no longer print field Collection Sheets to Union meetings as they are now empowered with a Tablet that contains an electronic version of Collection Sheets.

LAPO MfB Hosts 2017 Scholarship & Skills Awards Ceremony

LAPO MfB has reaffirmed its commitment to improving lives as it awards Scholarships to 1,084 qualified clients’ children.

The Chairperson, LAPO Scholarship Board, Professor Christiana Okojie commended the organization for sustaining the programme and for its immense support to the less privileged.
