The basic unit of the organization is a LAPO Group of 30 clients. 2 – 6 groups federate to form a LAPO Union at the community level. These groups are self-selecting and have leaders, deputy leaders and secretary. LAPO Branch: an average branch has a manager and 4/5 field/credit staff. A LAPO branch supervises between 10 – 60 groups. Leaders of groups under a branch constitute a branch council with elected leaders and a branch manager as the secretary. The branch council meets quarterly. 5 – 6 branches are supervised byan Area Manager who has his/her desk in one of the branches. LAPO Board’s strengths are its diversity, expertise and experience. Its seven members have solid background in finance, microlending, banking, commerce and industry. The Board is led by Dr. Osarenren Emokpae an Economist. The board consists of:
