As part of efforts to reduce the level of unemployment in the Country, LAPO Microfinance Bank recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) on skills and job creation for children of clients.
At the signing ceremony at the National Headquarters of the NDE in Abuja, the Managing Director of LAPO MfB, Dr. Godwin Ehigiamusoe said the signing was in line with the bank’s vision to improve the lives of its over 2 million clients.
He said, “It is within the mandate of our organization, which is not just about credits; it is also about providing support to our clients and we feel that one way we need to support them is by empowering their children with adequate skills towards a sustainable future.
The Director General of NDE, Mr. Olakunle Obayan mentioned that the signing was vital in view of the need to empower the youths to acquire needed skills and it will also reduce the level of unemployment in the country.
According to him, “I believe that this partnership is going to be very successful and the vision of LAPO MfB is the same with that of NDE.”
